Iceland takes home six gold medals after horse championship
The Icelandic riding team won six gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze medal at the World Championship of the Icelandic Horse in the Netherlands last weekend.

Thórarinn Eymundsson, who competed on the horse Kraftur from the farm Bringa, became the world champion in five gait and won the silver medal for tölt, a gait unique to the Icelandic horse, Morgunbladid reports.

Former world tölt champion Jóhann Skúlason and his horse Hvinur from Holtsmúli were the top contenders in the tölt category, but Hvinur lost a shoe and he and his rider ended up in the fifth place instead. The tölt trophy went to Norway.
